From 1908 an absolute treasure trove of true but forgotten continent spanning treasure hunts. Enough to spawn modern post apocalyptic legendary SURVIVAL APOCALYPSE epics!

A recurring theme with me, as you may notice by and by is that most of what we have in the post apocalyptic genre is rehashes. In other genres how much is too much Hobbit, Superman, and Star Wars? Star Trek.  Gak! Too often going back to the same old post apocalyptic diseased well which for a time produced sweet healthful water?

Much literature worth reading I suppose, but tiring after awhile. My theory is that folks willing to plunk down their hard earned dough will do so more readily if the reading material is interesting and unique. So where does one look for unique material if one disposes of the popular stuff from the last decade? Well, I’d say let history be the guide.

Below find several well researched and interesting articles by an intelligent writer on forgotten treasure hunts of epic proportions. Guess what? Sub-themes in post-apocalyptic fiction can employ the “chase”. The hero must locate something of importance and he’s on a deadline. This is an old old standard. And it still works, if done well. How easily the information below could be re-imagined by resourceful post-apocalpytic writers for deserving readers!
